No. We want the 31Ate app to be as accessible as possible. Therefore, the app will be free to use.

In full transparency, there are future plans to support the costs of the app database and maintenance through in-app advertising opportunities. This will also help support the development of new and exciting features.

While covering these costs is necessary, ads will not be a part of the first version. Our primary goal is for the app to go live first. We’ll also be looking for feedback from users on the best way to implement this to support costs, while minimizing any changes to the user experience.

Due to the backend architecture of how the app is built, restaurants that don’t have a dedicated physical location or have rotating locations, won’t be able to be added to the database at launch.

We are working on future features that will allow food trucks to be included in the database.

Yes, our initial focus is on promoting local restaurants in Shreveport-Bossier. These are the only restaurants that will be included at launch.

As we test the backend infrastructure for restaurant data, we plan to eventually include any restaurants in the 318 area code, with options to filter restaurants that are shown based on the restaurant’s location.

The main feature is the ability to create groups. This isn’t a one-to-one app. You can add multiple friends to a group and when everyone agrees on a restaurant you’ll be notified.

Next, we have integrated chat capabilities within each group. Once you agree on a restaurant, our built-in chat capabilities will make it easy to finalize plans.

Thanks to the way our backend architecture has been setup, we can update restaurant info and it will be live in the app immediately. There’s no need for users to update or refresh the app.

The app is currently in development and expected to be live on the Apple App Store and Google Play Store in October 2023.

The final step before launching will be internal testing of the app with our team, as well as external testing with a small, select number of users. If you’d like to be a beta tester or want to be notified when the app launches, you can sign up here.

Restaurant info is currently being manually added to the database for the app, at launch. In the future, we hope to be able to pull this data directly through an API with Google.

Restaurant Cards will be enhanced greatly over time. We have plans to include buttons that link to online ordering and delivery options for restaurants, as well as show additional info for restaurants on each card.

While the app initially will only feature restaurants in Shreveport-Bossier, we have plans to expand to the full 318 area code.

This expansion is a long-term goal after we have tested the app’s database and scaled our resources for user growth.

Our goal is to expand to Ruston, Monroe, Natchitoches, and Alexandria by Summer 2024, with other major cities in the 318 area code by December 2024.

Want to be a beta tester?

Help us make the 31Ate™ app the best it can be! As a 31Ate™ beta tester, you can get an early look at the app by test-driving a pre-release version and letting us know what you think.

A limited number of beta testers will chosen for each operating system. Unfortunately, we cannot accept all beta sign ups submitted. Those chosen will be contacted via the email address you provide when the app goes into the beta testing phase.
